I was born with an illness called sickle cell anemia, which causes excruciating pain in areas of the body with little warning.
Through this illness, I decided to thrive rather than just survive. I claimed all that I deemed my ‘normal’ (who I called those without ailments) friends and family were able to achieve. I spent 6 years to complete 1 degree due to so much illness, but I never gave up.
I leaned into my interests, became a Youth Worker, and took over the Children and Youth Church at Micah Ministries.
I have learnt how powerful my mindset is, how to dream bigger, and how to believe in bigger things for my own life. If I’m encouraging others with my message, it needs to be based on my experiences.
