About Maria
I take a holistic approach to therapy, which defines new research directions by addressing the whole client: the body and the mind. Reestablishing a clear dialogue between the two enhances self-awareness, giving way to insights and action. I help the clients with their goals while allowing for the client’s past to be brought forward if the client so wishes. All sessions are client-led. Rebalancing and integrating what we want with our values, our internal sense of direction, and motivation gives way to our natural tendencies towards growth and abundance.
I started with an interest in understanding people and their behaviours, which led to a degree in counselling, one in psychology, counselling, and therapies, and my newest interest in coaching. In my perspective, counselling and coaching complement each other. When brought together for the client’s benefit, it helps integrate the whole of the client with the most remarkable results. Most recently, I have embarked on the journey of a PhD, focusing on understanding more about chronic pain and how a holistic approach, like Mind Body Bowen, can bring something new and reliable to how chronic pain is approached and worked with. I have supported chronic pain sufferers, as well as those with an acute need towards change and action, those looking to bring changes to their businesses, and those who are looking into their past to bring positive change to their present. Additionally, I support those looking to understand the role of the autonomic nervous system in addressing behaviour and managing thought patterns.
